ABOUT

In the saison 2018/2019 within the concert series “Everywhere is heaven” PLAY Plattform offers monthly events under the motto “what is a good life”. On the 23rd February will take place the last event of the series - “PLAY Catacombs”. As the life moves us all through love and death, the grand finale of the series features fearless love (Eros) and fearless death (Thanatos) - two basic human instincts. As the life is a circle, PLAY Catacombs is designed to give birth to a new ideas, to overcome cultural stagnation. As a farewell and as a welcome to new beginning - this end of journey is a preparation for the new beginning - a series “PLAY Elements” in saison 2019/2020.

The program of PLAY Catacombs is composed of a guided tour through the cemetery featuring masterpieces of sepulchral sculpture under theme of eternal love and open air solo music performances. During the tour there is a special “surprise” awaiting PLAY audience - a visit and guerilla exhibition in the Mausoleum “von Reichenbach” that will open its doors for the first time since nearly fifty years. The tour will end at catacombs of the Mausoleum “Gans” where one can watch a one-day art installation prepared by the artist Elizabeth Coleman-Link especially for PLAY Plattform and listen to the highlights of renaissance and baroque chamber music in the catacombs.
